# Built as nodes. Measured like instruments.

Robotics hardware — Dallas, Texas | Catalog rev. 2026.10

Motor, sensing and sync nodes on one USB-C bus. Makers use them one at a time, robotics companies build them in, and our data-station hardware is assembled from them.

**03** System

## One cable per device.

Each node’s own USB-C port is the bus: power negotiated over PD, USB to a computer, and CAN to everything else. On a bench, a phone charger runs one node. On a floor, a Hub 8 Pro runs eight.

| | | | | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A1 | SmartStepper 17 | | USB-C, PD + USB + CAN 1 Mbit/s | |
| A2 | SmartServo G × n | | USB-C, CAN-FD | |
| B1 | Contour | | USB-C, depth and sync in | |
| C1 | Sync Beacon | | USB-C, station clock | |
| D1 | Hub 8 Pro | | 8 node ports with PD per port, 2 accessory ports, CAN star with isolated ports, 20 V motor rail, E-stop in | |
| PC | Host PC | | One USB device. Python SDK, ROS 2, LeRobot, MCAP | |

Fig. 02 — Bus topology. Hub 8 Pro ports are point-to-point segments, so a damaged cable is cut off without stopping the others.

**04** Test card

## Every unit ships with its own numbers.

Each node is calibrated and measured at final test, and the results go in the box and stay on the node. We publish measured values. Anything we haven’t measured yet is marked as a target.

- Encoder calibration stored on the node, not in a laptop’s config file
- Backlash, backdrive and torque recorded per serial number
- The same record goes to makers, OEM customers and our own stations

**Unit test card** SmartServo G-2804 · 20:1

Illustrative

Serial | CM-A23-000127

Encoder calibration | 16,384 counts/turn | at test

Backlash, output | 4.6 arcmin | at test

Backdrive, unpowered | 0.21 N·m | at test

Continuous torque, 20 V | 0.93 N·m | at test

Thermal soak, 30 min | 41 °C | at test

PD contract | 20 V | at test

Illustrative values. Each unit’s real values are measured at final test. | Dallas, TX

**05** Assembled

## Our station hardware is made of this catalog.

A floor’s spare part is a node from the index above, and a repair is a swap. Each system below is a list of catalog numbers plus a little structure.
