Perfect the nodes. Build everything else from them.

Checkmate Dynamics designs complete motion, sensing and sync nodes, sells them to people building robots, and builds its own station products from the very same units.

01Principles

How we build.

01

One family

Same cable, connector, bus, clock, app and look across every product. Own one node and you know the next.

02

Plug in, then work

Plug it in and it’s found, named and ready. Settings exist; nobody needs them to start.

03

Measured, not promised

We publish measurements. Anything not yet measured is marked as a target, and every unit ships with its own test card.

04

Value first

We aim for the best part in its class, judged by the work it saves you.

05

Built from the same nodes

Our larger products are assemblies of the retail nodes, hub and cable. Improve one node and everything improves.

06

Continuity

Identity, calibration and history travel with a node from a maker’s bench to a data floor.

07

Your data is yours

Everything works on-prem; the cloud is optional. Station devices have no radio, any node radio is off until you turn it on in the app, and we never receive your recordings.

08

Finished

02Record

From one stepper board to a platform.

It started with SmartStepper, a closed-loop NEMA 17 that runs on a USB-C charger. Then SmartServo G for brushless gimbal motors, Contour for depth, cycloidal reducers for both node families, the Sync Beacon for station timing, and Hub 8 Pro to power and connect it all.
