Legal and pre-order terms.
The FCC notice, the pre-order terms, your rights if we are late, and how we publish specifications. One page, so the product pages can stay about the product.
FCC notice
This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission. This device is not, and may not be, offered for sale or lease, or sold or leased, until authorization is obtained.
This is the notice required by 47 CFR 2.803 for a device that is shown before it has the FCC authorization it needs. It applies to every Checkmate Dynamics electronic product on this site until that product is authorized. Products are US only at launch.
Conditional sale
A product that has not yet received the FCC authorization it needs is sold on these conditions, under 47 CFR 2.803(c)(2)(i):
- The device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission, and may not be sold or leased, or delivered, until authorization is obtained.
- Your order is conditional on that authorization. We do not ship the product before it is obtained.
- If authorization is not obtained, your order is cancelled and you receive a full refund.
The same three conditions are shown at checkout.
Pre-order terms
A pre-order is an order for a product that is not yet in stock. The product page and your confirmation state the date we promise to ship by.
- You can cancel before it ships and we refund you in full, on request.
- If an order holds a pre-order item and an in-stock item, the whole order ships together when the last item is ready.
- If the product does not receive the FCC authorization it needs, we cancel the order and refund you in full.
- Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax and shipping are shown at checkout before you pay.
If we are late
If we cannot ship by the date we promised, we write to you before that date with a new one and give you two choices: wait for the new date, or cancel for a full refund. For a first delay of up to 30 days, if you do not reply we treat that as agreement to wait. For any later delay, we cancel and refund the order unless you tell us you want to wait. This follows the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, 16 CFR 435.
How we publish specifications
- Sensor and component figures come from the maker’s datasheet, and the page says so.
- Dimensions, voltages, bus speeds and port ratings are set by our design.
- Performance figures such as torque, backlash, mass and power draw appear on a product page only after we have measured them on hardware. Until then the page gives no number.
- Each unit ships with a test card of the values we measured on that unit.
- Images show the current product design. A production unit may differ in detail.
- Prices are list prices in US dollars.
